They're terrible, especially if you're not able to satisfy them.
The body yearns for a taste of the unattainable and it becomes an object of consuming thought. This and that is tried to pacify but - to no avail. The hunger, or thirst, is not appeased. Nothing but the REAL and GENUINE will put a stop to this great desire.
Isn't it amazing how our spirit also craves?
Craves to know its' Creator, the One Who made it. But do we access ourselves to that which is attainable to satisfy that spiritual hunger and thirst - going directly to Him - spending time with Him - getting acquainted with Him - absorbing Him - soaking Him up - to find ourselves full and satisfied?
“For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things” (Psalm 107:9).
How does He do that? Spending time alone with Him as His Word is read and meditated upon brings a nourishment that feeds the spirit. It then spills over into the rest of our being bringing along with it a joy and even an energy that revitalizes. Our strength is renewed and we do indeed feel “satisfied” and filled with good things.
